Starting my own online business (scary stuff!) | Lifestyle

Sometimes in life you have to take that leap of faith. You have to take life by the horns and just take the plunge. The things in life that instill you with fear can be miniscule or huge. The magnitude doesn't really matter because either way it's freaking terrifying. But sometimes the scariest things in life can also be the best. After much consideration, research and practice, I decided it's time to face one of my own little fears and set up my own online shop.

I've always had creativity running through my bones. I've always felt this desire to create. It's one of the reasons for this blog. It's a little corner on the web where I can let my thoughts run free. But the need to create still exists and the need to share that creativity with others grew stronger. So with butterflies of excitement and moths of fear fluttering around in my stomach, this post is to break the news that I've taken the plunge. I've taken the great, big, scary step and set up my own little online shop. At the moment, the store focuses on metal stamped bracelets. All of which are lovingly handcrafted and stamped by yours truly. Each bracelet can be personalized to feature a word, quote, date, name, or whatever else you may think of.

Grandiose Days Jewellery focuses on promoting self-love and positivity. I believe that you can be anything that you put your mind to. You are amazing and you should embrace that. Now, you can wear your own positive statement on your wrist, or whatever else you choose to write on your own personalized cuff bracelet. I hope that by wearing one of these personalized bracelets, you will realize how strong and wonderful you are. I hope that you can wear it as a reminder of your own greatness.

For myself, I opted for two bracelets. Though, I imagine that whilst creating these for others, my own personal collection will grow. But for now, I'll keep my hands off the stock (as much as possible). For one of my thicker cuff bracelets, I chose the simplistic 'breathe'. For me, this one word is symbolic of so much. It's a reminder to take things easy every once in a while, it's a reminder to just breathe and not let my anxiety take control, it's a reminder to appreciate the present moment. For me, seeing this word on my wrist reminds me that life can be good if I just allow it.

As for my thin bracelet, I chose 'wanderlust'. I'm overcome with this great sense of wanderlust. I'm constantly itching to explore and travel. I'm determined to see this world. I want to explore every inch of it and see what beauty it has to offer. My wanderlust bracelet is a promise to myself that I will take the scary step into the great big world and go exploring. Next year, I plan to do a spot of solo-travelling. This cuff bracelet is a promise that I will do just that.

These bracelets may not be perfect. The spacing and placement can vary. But the quirks of the handmade bracelet add to it's personality. The imperfections are a gentle reminder than none of us are perfect. But it's our little quirks and flaws that make us unique. They add to our self-worth. Please note, whilst I admit that the spacing will not be 100%, I do spend hours on each bracelet. I put in 110% of my efforts, energy and more. I carefully measure each bracelet, measuring word-length and letter-spacing. I'm dedicated to creating a bracelet that you can look at with pride. I work hard to ensure that each one is made with highest level of care, quality and love possible.

So, that's my scary news. I'm dipping my toes into the vast ocean of online shops. I hope that my personalized, handmade silver bracelets can put a smile on someone's face. I hope that one day soon I can expand the range to include more wonderful pieces. For now, I hope these bracelets can bring a spot of positivity to the world around us.

I would love to know your thoughts on the bracelets. Kind words or not, I'll be grateful for your opinions. If you would like to shop the bracelets and put the world's greatest smile on my face, then you can find them on Etsy here
