A sparkling alternative to alcohol with Fentimans

fentimans new lime jasmine drink flowers spring

As a young twenty-odd year old girl who doesn't drink alcohol, I'm always on the lookout for a tasty alternative. There's only so many lime and lemonades you can neck before your taste buds start demanding a more adventurous beverage. Thankfully, the lovely folk at Fentimans let me have a sneaky taste of their new Sparkling Lime and Jasmine before it went on sale earlier this month.

It's been over a year since I stopped drinking alcohol and apart from an accidental few slurps of a cocktail and a couple of wine-infused gravy soaked Sunday dinners, I've managed to uphold my zero-alcohol rule. Honestly, I feel better for it and some of my absolute favourite nights out have been sober ones. The only downfall to a sober night out is that the drinks-choice is often uninspiring. I'm a girl with a soft spot for cocktails, which is pretty problematic when you don't drink alcohol. Luckily, Fentimans come to the rescue with their range of botanically brewed natural soft drinks. You don't have to be limited to tap water, draft lemonade or cola on a alcohol-free night. With Fentimans you can enjoy a variety of sophisticated, refreshing beverages including Victorian Lemonade (my all time favourite), Curiosity Cola and Wild English Elderflower.

If I'm ever out for lunch or a few evening drinks and see Fentimans on the drinks menu, It's the first thing I order. The retro glass bottles, intricate labels and innovative flavours are delightful. They're the perfect drinks choice for a Spring evening with friends. The new Sparkling Lime and Jasmine met my high expectations. The first sip is punchy, filled with fermented ginger extract mixed with citrus flavours from the Lime Flower. The initial tangy kick is sweetly followed by refreshing, floral notes of Hyssop, Juniper Berries and Jasmine. There are so many layers to the drink that it leaves your taste buds craving more and with each sip you'll discover another note, be it floral or citrusy.

This soft drink has a truly unique depth of flavour, enhanced by it's artisanal botanical brewing process. It's flavour certainly delivers cues of sparkling white wine. I can see why Fentimans market themselves as a credible alternative to alcohol.

Thanks to Fentimans delicious collection of natural soft drinks, I can enjoy a night out with a tasty drink in my hand. Next time you're out, why not give Fentimans Sparkling Lime and Jasmine a try instead of that glass of wine? Who knows, your Sundays may become Fundays as you wake up feeling refreshed instead of spending the whole day in bed binging on Netflix and last night's questionable take away as you nurse your hangover.

N.B. Fentimans Sparkling Lime and Jasmine is a gifted product. However, all opinions and words remain that of my own. If you have any questions, please drop me an email :).

  1. I feel like these are something I should try! I stopped drinking as much last year and have had a few sober nights out, but find people are constantly asking why I'm not drinking and thinking I'm weird for it, which is SO ANNOYING. I never used to drink apart from on a night out anyway - but would drink too much on a night out as a student - and I wanted to be healthier and look after my body. These sound like a fab alternative. xx

  3. I have to try these! I don't drink alcohol that often because I just feel very uncomfortable getting drunk or even tipsy. These could be a great alternative.
