70s Office Style for Spring 2015 | Fashion

70s Office Style

I'm current lusting (majorly!) over this look. This is the perfect combination of 70s and City style. And if you've been following my blog, you may already have realised that I'm quite the fan of the chic office-city look. This spring, I'm eying up all the 70s styles...and this outfit is a firm favourite of mine.

This soft bonded trench coat is a-mazing. I tried this on in store and literally had to force myself to take it off and put it back on the hanger. I always find the trench coat to have quite a powerful look, with the belt cinching in the waist to add a touch of femininity. This coat is minimalistic yet has tiny detailing, such as the camel lining and muted grey buttons, which just makes it a truly beautiful piece.

Another Topshop item that I'm loving right now is this cord A-line skirt. This is a seriously 70s skirt. The A-line cut, popper button front and tan brown cord...what more could you want? This skirt would be a beauty paired with a white blouse for work, or a Breton striped jersey for daytime, or a turtle-neck...hell, the options are endless. Oh and at £30, it's hard to refuse this little gem.

Now, the shoes. Have you ever seen more perfect looking mules? I'm not normally a fan of mules...when there is no back support, I tend to turn into Bambi on ice. Honestly, that isn't a flattering sight. But, I can't refuse these. I love the structured patent-leather square style. Oh, and the block heel. I always prefer my heels to be chunky. Again, these are bringing back the 70s and with that, they're bringing back the Women's Rights Revolution and reminding us that women can rule the office (and world!).

The blouse. This little number is a simple cropped blouse. But with a spot of glitz and glamour. The embellished collar is so sweet. A white blouse is often the plain, yet classic, office look. So, I really do love how the simple addition of some gems can really take that once-boring white shirt to an eye-catching piece.

As for the make-up, I'm currently favouring a no-frills base. Just a light-medium foundation coverage, with a bold matte lip stick with a lick of mascara and winged eyeliner. That's it. No heavy blush or bronze. Just a fresh-face and wide-eyed look.

  2. I absolutely love the mules and skirt! So glad spring is near and I can wear a lot less layers.
I also think less is more on the face with the 70s... all those patterns and chunky shoes!
    Where are the mules from?

    1. Thank you! I love layering up but I have to agree, I can't wait for spring either. Less is definitely more with 70s look! The mules are from Asos, divine aren't they?
