Sunday was International Women's Day and this Wednesday we'll see the celebration of Ladies Day at Cheltenham Races. The races are always the place to go for the hottest looks of the season. There is glamour and glitz everywhere you look on Ladies Day.
This year, it's all about being bright, bold and brave. My wardrobe is normally a sea of black, grey, white and muted tones. But every once in a blue moon I like to inject a splash of colour into my outfit. With spring just round the corner, Ladies Day sounds like the perfect excuse to dress to the nines and wear a dash of colour.
When going bright, coral tends to be my go to colour. It's red's flirty sister- the perfect mix of shy yet confident! I wore this Missguided coral lace panel midi dress for my graduation and have never felt so comfortable in such a tight fitting, bold dress. The dress is ridiculously flattering. I honestly couldn't be happier with a dress for comfort and style. I bought this dress for £34 but you can actually snap it up for £18 in the sale now!
The perfect accompaniment for this is obviously a pair of statement shoes that speak for themselves without being overpowering in colour. A bonus in itself because it means the pop of coral in the dress will still be eyecatchingly beautiful.
When looking for statement shoes, Sophia Webster is the go-to woman. The collection is divine. Admittedly, they are quite a splurge. These Evangeline Angel Wing heels are £395. But look at them! They are amazing and if you can find a cheaper but equally as exquisite pair of shoes then please go ahead and show me the way! I feel that these gorgeous high heels would be an investment worth making.
For the accessories, I'm feeling a white clutch, and gold minimalistic bracelets and layered rings. After all, you want all eyes on that colourful coral lace dress...and shoes, let's not forget those beauties. You'll be able to pick up those key minimal accessories at any high street store, where you'll be spoilt for choice.
