My daily winter look comprises of layers, lots and lots of layers. There are two other things I'm loving this winter, apart from layers and roll-necks (as mentioned 1972 times before), and that's faux fur and thigh-high boots.
So to keep in with the theme of layer and all things I love this winter, here is an outfit perfect for the daytime. Over-the-knee / thigh-high boots have got me drooling this winter. Especially if they are suede and with a little bit of heel. I think they just make an outfit look so much more luxurious. For a winter's day out, I'd wear these boots with a lovely thick pair of black leggings...channelling my inner equestrian. To take those thigh-highs from day to night, I'd leave the leggings in the wardrobe and bare some skin instead! I feel thigh-highs would love divine paired with a boho floaty dress for the evening!
My love of roll-necks is still gong strong...very strong actually! So, it'd be rude of me to not incorporate one into this outfit. I love the colour of burgundy for this time of year, just looking at it warms my bones. This jumper is a little bit on the cropped side of life, so to keep your stomach protected from the frosty air, I'd layer an oversized floaty blouse underneath the jumper! And for some extra warmth- a very toasty looking faux fur gilet should do the trick!
I adore layering clothes and seeing the contrast between all the different layers and textures. Though, try to keep the colours toned down. I'm a sucker for the all black look, but to mix this outfit up a bit, I've thrown in some cream and burgundy. Not having loud or bright colours, allows the layers and textures to be the focus point of the outfit. When done correctly, layering can make your outfit look seriously haute. Perfect!
When it comes to keeping those ears warm, instead of tucking them beneath a beanie, I feel a faux fur headband will complete this outfit perfectly...tying in all the different textures, and keeping your ears super toasted and happy. Though,
For the winter days, what is your go-to style?

I'm obsessing over roll necks and thigh high boots too! I think I wore a poloneck in 4 OOTDs in a row...
ReplyDeleteLove your styling! Faux fur gilet is definitely on my Chrismas list.
