Winter is here and so are the dark mornings, windy days and frosty air. Winter can be a truly magical time of year, but all that cold weather can seriously take it's toll on our hair, lips and skin! That's why it's that little bit extra important to have a good beauty regimen during Winter. To help you staying glowing this winter, I've put together this little list of my favourite winter beauty tips and tricks! They all contain natural products and are the perfect hack for maintain gorgeous skin this winter...so read on to find out how to preserve your beauty during winter!
Chapped Lips
The bane of my life every s i n g l e winter. I always suffer terribly with chapped lips and no matter what amazing-new-on-the-market-totally-moisturising lip balms I use, my lips still suffer. Or at least, that was until I discovered the world of lip scrubs. You can buy lip scrubs from Lush. Though, personally for the winter months I much prefer a homemade version. Making a lip scrub using honey, brown sugar and coconut oil can leave your lips feeling and looking silky smooth. Honey and Coconut oil will both work to keep your lips well moisturised, whilst the brown sugar will exfoliate the lips, ensuring your lips are soft as can be!
Dull Skin
During winter, our skin can lose it's natural glow. Leaving it looking dull and unloved. Using a natural DIY face mask can restore your skin's glow. Ingredients such as honey, lemon and almond oil are perfect for brightening and moisturising your skin. Honey and lemon both have brightening properties, with honey having the added benefit of moisturising. Whilst the almond oil will be sure to get deep into your skin and rehydrate. Using this face mask on a weekly basis will leave you glowing this winter.
Dry, Frizzy Hair
If, like me, your hair turns wild during the winter then this simple trick may be your saviour. In the winter time, my hair tends to gain a life of it's own and ends up being brittle, static and just a total nightmare to deal with. I found that coconut oil can fix all these problems! I simply, get a small amount of coconut oil and warm it until it's melted. Then, I massage the coconut oil into my hair (focusing on my scalp and the ends of my hair). I leave the coconut oil on overnight and then in the morning thoroughly wash it out. As a result, my hair has a lovely shine...and is no longer dry or frizzy!
Dry Skin
Again, when dealing with dry skin, I reach for the jar of coconut oil. It's one of my favourite products for, well, everything! I seriously mean everything, from cooking to beauty. For dry skin, I use coconut oil as a moisturizer. I find applying a thin layer of coconut oil under your eyes can help strengthen and hydrate the skin, reducing the appearance of dark circles. Using coconut oil as a facial moisturizer can hydrate your skin, reduce dry skin and give you a healthy glow. Though, when doing this, I follow it up with some Witch Hazel Gel to reduce the chance of the coconut oil clogging my pores. For those dry legs, elbows, hands, etc. I will apply coconut oil as a body butter. I also create a coconut oil, coffee and sugar scrub to really transform dry skin into healthy, hydrated skin. I apply the scrub when in the shower and it works wonders on my skin. The coconut has hydrating properties, whilst the coffee has exfoliating and energizing properties that stimulate skin, and the sugar exfoliates to keep it smooth. I highly recommend making a body scrub like this!
I hope these little tips help! All ingredients can probably be sourced from your kitchen cupboards, meaning you can give your skin some ultimate beauty TLC without having to spend thousands on beauty products.
I'd love to hear your beauty tips and tricks, so let me know :)!

ReplyDeleteIt really is amazing! I'm not too sure where you could find it in Canada...I know that my local health store stocks it, so try one of those! Or failing that just use Amazon! They're bound to sell it on there :)
