Goodbye long hair | Charity hair cut

It happened. In one great big snip of the scissors, I was left holding my long locks in the palm of my hands. I posted earlier about my plans to cut off my cherished long hair for charity. I love my long hair but was overwhelmed by the ability to cut it off and give it to someone who needs it far more than I do. So, my hair is now on it's way to The Little Princess Trust who will use it to make a wig for a child who has lost their hair from cancer treatment. Honestly, cutting my hair may be a small gesture. But knowing that it will mean the world to a child, that it will put a smile on their face and give them back some confidence is astounding. It gives me butterflies to know that my small act can have such a profound effect for another person, a young child, a complete stranger.

As I sat in the hairdressers, I was overcome with an initial sense of fear. But the moment the deed was done and the hair lay in my hands, it felt natural. I urge that anybody who is toying with the idea of cutting their hair, to just do it. Chop it all off (or at least 7 inches) and donate it to charity. It's a worthy cause and you hair will grow back!

It's fair to say that I'm pleased with my new short style. Though, it is definitely going to take some getting used to! I'll be looking to Taylor Swift for inspiration. After all, she is totally rocking the short hair. It's only natural that I pay homage to Taylor Swift- the Queen of pop...oh forget it, the Queen of everything. If you're thinking of cutting your hair for charity my words of advice are... cut it off, cut it off oh-oh (to the tune of Shake it off of course).

If you would like to donate to the wonderful Little Princess Trust, then please head over to my Just Giving page. Even if you donate just £1, it's another £1 towards helping children who have lost their hair from cancer treatment, or other conditions. Thank you so much, I am so grateful for every penny that has been raised so far :).
